Last week: VACCINE INCREASE: Great news for Florida as the COVID-19 vaccine supply is slated to increase to 450,000 for first doses in the coming week. Despite this, I hear nothing but vile and endless criticism of President Trump, who oversaw the creation of multiple vaccines in a fraction of the time it historically takes. Regarding H1N1 back in 2009, Joe Biden’s current Chief of Staff Ron Klain said, ”…we did every possible thing wrong…it’s just purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in America history.” The media remains completely incapable of any semblance of honest reporting regarding Donald Trump.
Looking ahead: CRUISE LIMITS: With Key West residents voting to limit visiting cruise ship capacity to less than 1,300 people, they are effectively accepting only the smaller, boutique-type cruise lines like Crystal and Regent, who cater largely to a much older, affluent crowd. While not necessarily old or affluent, I have sailed on both of those lines, and can tell you that for a variety of reasons, many of those folks won’t even get off the ship in Key West. I suspect the law of unintended consequences will rear its ugly head here vis-a-vis the effect on small businesses, still struggling to crawl out of the COVID-19 abyss.
