After the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns announced a multi-year partnership with TikTok in February, the soccer clubs are taking another step forward in making an impact in their communities through their deal with the social media platform.
The Thorns and Timbers announced Wednesday that Stand Together and TikTok have collaborated to help elevate the social media platform’s TikTok for Good initiative with custom scarves.
What soccer fan doesn’t love a good scarf?
The 100% acrylic woven red scarf has the words “PTFC on it,” for Portland Thorns and Timbers FC, as well as the phrase “empowering communities,” and “changing lives.” The scarves were created by Ruffneck Wear.

Every three months, the club will release a unique scarf and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local non-profit.
The first scarf will benefit the Urban League of Portland, which helps empower African Americans through education, employment, economic security and more.
As the Thorns and Timbers noted, the “Urban League of Portland is one of the oldest African American service, civil rights and advocacy organizations in the area. ULPDX is part of a network of over 90 National Urban League affiliates across the country and are recognized as one of the leading voices for African Americans and other people of color in the region.”
In addition to these awesome scarves, a portion of the proceeds from each Timbers and Thorns FC jersey sold will also benefit the quarterly non-profit. Fans will need to purchase those jerseys from PTFCAuthentics.com for it to be eligible for donation.
