Nationwide — Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau, a 19-year old Black Lives Matter activist from Tallahassee, Florida has been found dead. She had been missing for one week, and police are investigating her death as a homicide.
Salau had been recently publicly speaking and protesting on behalf of Tony McDade, a man who was killed last month by Tallahassee police. In a now viral clip, she can be heard saying that she wants to unite people against police brutality committed against Black Americans.
Police have reportedly already arrested a 49-year old suspect named Aaron Glee.
