The second in a webinar series about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the aerospace community will be held 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET Tuesday, 21 July.

The ASCENDxWebinar is hosted by ASCEND, a space ecosystem event from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

The webinar will focus on the experiences of women in the aerospace community. Leaders from professional engineering societies will address the opportunities and challenges faced by their members and highlight ongoing work toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The webinar will feature:

  • Raquel Tamez, CEO, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
  • Heather Doty, president, Society of Women Engineers
  • Kristina Halona, Sequoyah Fellow and Board of Directors, American Indian Science and Engineering Society
  • Enanga Fale, director of the Aerospace Special Interest Group, National Society of Black Engineers

This session was developed in collaboration with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society, the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers.

The first webinar, held 15 July, featured a panel discussion about institutional transformations that address challenges and provide opportunities for African Americans in the aerospace workforce pipeline.
