• health care workers for once again having to take care of those who won’t take care of themselves and those around them.
• Americans who care about other Americans by getting vaccinated and wearing masks when appropriate.
• Michael Hicks for the powerful arguments he made in his column in favor of vaccination.
• The Republic for its very accurate reporting of voter statements at the legislative redistricting forum.
• all those who vote to remove from office politicians who want to defund or abolish the police.
• all the USA Olympians who won medals in the true spirit of competition with the love and honor of this great free nation.
• all those who vote to remove from office politicians who supported Trump’s big lie.
• Shontel Brown for winning the Congressional Democratic primary in Ohio’s 11th District.
• Michael Hicks’ right-on column.
• Pat for giving me blackberries and helping me pick them, from Colene.
Onions to …
• focusing on the number of infected when you need to focus on hospitalizations and deaths.
• whoever operates the monthly siren alert, keeping it on too long at a time.
• those people who believe that abortion is a choice for birth control.
• those who expect the government to pay their rent and feed their babies.
• local representative failing to wear a mask at the redistricting meeting, even though it was required, and bragging about not getting the vaccine.
• local facility hosting the redistricting meeting not escorting a representative out, and anybody else who didn’t wear a mask, even though a sign clearly stated masks were required.
• states trying to do away with peoples’ voting rights, especially those of African Americans.
• my non-masking teachers, why should I believe anything you teach me, now that I know you don’t trust science or health officials?
• the new administration pushing $3.5 trillion in entitlements we don’t want to pay for.
• all of those so willing to take other people’s rights away because of their own fear.
• all the money pouring in for representatives who have set democracy aside and shamefully support the former leader.
• people not protecting children with masks in school, but insisting those coming into the city buildings must wear masks.
• the Riverfront Project.
• to all those folks who refuse to wear masks, remember the adage, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
• stores that don’t want to touch my filthy cash as I certainly refuse to touch your equally filthy PIN pads.
• young people who need to stop having children they know they can’t care of and stop buying dogs they can’t take of.
• accepting social parties for some but not all.
• the media pushing negative unproven stories about our past administration and ignoring all the problems of our current administration.
• our representatives who support democracy only when it benefits them.
• the current federal administration, vaccines and masks — none of these work.
• the “country club” drastically straying from their mission, and instead catering only to those that can afford to participate.
• school superintendent who isn’t having staff and student temperatures taken before entering school.
• politicians who won’t press hard for vaccines when their constituents are dying.
• the big box store that takes a half hour to return one item.
• the nurse for being rude to my elderly, sick father.
• the folks with the rally cry “my body, my choice” when it comes to aborting innocent children but they belittle that when choosing whether or not to be vaccinated.
• the local business making people came back to work.
• the corporate suck-ups at the city administration.
• three cars that ran the stop sign in Northbrook Sunday night.
• vehicles speeding down National Road Monday morning.
• the former federal official who hosted a party with several hundred unmasked and people in close contact in order to stroke his ego.
• local elected officials that relinquish powers to non-elected committees.
