A warning about a “growing” trend in landscaping scams as weather warms up.

JASON KNOWLES: Here’s a quick landscaping scam tip. The Better Business Bureau saying they get flooded with lawn and garden scam complaints and disputes as spring weather motivates people to improve their outdoor spaces. There are reports of fake websites popping up, claiming to sell flowers and landscaping products. But after you buy, nothing arrives. So research websites first with the BBB or search engines, and only buy from a store that you know and trust.
Use a credit card so you can dispute fraudulent charges. Consumer experts also say that you should understand plant return policies. They vary from store to store. Some nurseries will give you a free replacement for a diseased plant, but others may have stricter no refund exchange policies. Jason Knowles, ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
