WASHINGTON — It’s the 4th Annual DMV Black Restaurant Week! That means it’s time to rally up some friends and hit up the best Black-owned restaurants, eateries and businesses in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia region.

This year’s theme is “Embracing Our Diversity Through Food, Beverage and Music.” It starts Sunday, Nov. 7 and goes through Sunday, Nov. 14.

Dozens of restaurants across the region are participating in this week-long event filled with drink specials, discounts, amazing food and great vibes. Some Black-owned businesses, chefs, bartenders, farmers, hospitality professionals, food bloggers and others in the food and beverage industry have also joined this year’s line-up.

According to the National Restaurant Association, 9% of the restaurant industry is made up of African Americans and Black people. And the National Bureau of Economic Research reports 41% of African- American businesses declined from February 2020 to April 2020.

With just seven days, we had to make sure the DMV community takes on this amazing opportunity to support and indulge in the area’s finest cuisine and drinks.

(Tell them we sent you! ?)

Victory Restaurant & Lounge- D.C.

There’s a list of activities and events planned to celebrate black-owned food and beverage makers in the region, including a cocktail competition and a food and education conference. Get tickets here.

To support local Black-owned businesses in the catering, bartending, and events industries, here’s a list.
