PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – On the last day before Election Day, both campaigns are making a final push in Pennsylvania. Former Vice President Joe Biden is making several stops in the Pittsburgh area.

Biden’s visit to western Pennsylvania began in Beaver County Monday afternoon, where supporters lined up to get into an event with Biden in the upper parking lot at the Community College of Beaver County.

The motorcade arrived in Beaver County ahead of schedule for Biden to speak with union members and labor leaders. His speech was short and simple, focusing on jobs and the middle class.

He also addressed a big topic in Pennsylvania: fracking. He said he won’t ban fracking but rather ban the incentives that are sending jobs over seas.

His final push to the crowd of about 100 was to get out and vote and return any mail-in ballots.

“It’s time to unite this country,” Biden said. “There’s an amazing thing about this moment in our history. On one hand, we’re faced with the biggest threats to who we are, what we believe, in our lifetime. But on the other hand, the future has never been so promising.”

Dr. Jill Biden had several stops planned before meeting up with Joe Biden in the evening for a drive-in event that will feature Lady Gaga.

Both Joe Biden and Lady Gaga made an unplanned stop in Oakland Monday afternoon. Both met and talked with Pitt students on the street before continuing on to Homewood.

Biden then went to Lexington Technology Park in Homewood. The former vice president is using diversity as one of his main strategies to persuade voters in the final hours.

In Homewood, Biden was slated to speak with local leaders and members of the Black and Hispanic communities about how his presidency would impact them.

“African Americans vote in each and every election. That means something, and black people are in a position to help determine the next president of the United States of America,” said Tim Stevens with the Black Political Empowerment Project.

Biden was invited to Homewood by council members to discuss rebuilding Black communities back in September.

The drive-in rally featuring Lady Gaga is the last scheduled stop of the night. Everyone going to the drive-in rally must go through a security check. First, there’s a COVID screening with a temperature check, then the cars are inspected by law enforcement before gaining entry.

Gov. Tom Wolf kicked off the event on the North Shore. Lady Gaga then got on stage backing former Vice President Biden and encouraging people to hit the polls.

Both campaigns turned their attention to Pennsylvania Monday, with President Trump including Biden’s hometown of Scranton as one of his stops.

Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence held a rally at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe late Monday morning. Senator Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff have plans in the eastern part of the state before meeting up for a drive-in event featuring John Legend in Philadelphia.
