The centuries-long developments in the mission to have Black lives justly valued have been in motion long before the much needed Black Lives Matter movement existed. With the countless, unjust murders of innocent Black people across the country only increasing in number over the years, the words “Black Lives Matter” have been amplified in avenues that now extend beyond simple word of mouth.

In an effort to exercise this, some folks have been actively seeking out organizations and individuals whose sole efforts remain to uplift and help preserve Black lives. In contribution to this movement, Verizon Media is collaborating with Black artists to bring their visions for equality to life through a collection of goods you can purchase. All proceeds from these items will go to Black non-profits and charities to help drive change.

The inaugural design of this series, a “Black Lives Matter” unisex T-shirt (created by artist Malcolm Jones), shines a light on the rich layers of Blackness. All proceeds earned from this T-shirt, which is currently available for purchase at the Verizon Media Shop, go directly to the National Urban League.

This beautiful graphic design, printed on a classic black unisex tee, features an amalgamation of terms that all fall under the “Black Lives Matter” umbrella. Among them are Black education matters, Black culture matters, Black health matters, Black writers matter, Black art matters and more.

The T-shirt is available in six sizes: small, medium, large, X-Large, 2X-Large and 3X-Large.

“I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight Black life and provide a mechanism for allies to show their support,” Jones said of his design on Instagram.

The National Urban League is a historic civil rights organization that has made it its mission to achieve economic empowerment, equality and social justice for African-Americans and others in underserved communities since 1910.
