♦ Mark Twain once observed that “It’s easier to fool people than convince them they have been fooled.”
♦ INFLATION: Temporary? The intelligentsia and their politicians may be confused, but the working people of America are not.
♦ COVID, COVID, oh my god, Armageddon. Let me get this right: if you get a polio vaccine, you don’t get polio. If you get a smallpox vaccine, you don’t get smallpox. So why is thi called a vaccine if you take it and can still get COVID? What’s up with this? I’m so sick of this, I can’t stand it. Let’s just move on. There’s always bumps in the road. Life will go on or like hell it won’t. We’re all set on a course that’s intended for each one of us.
♦ Soapbox; I have always thought that anyone trying to overthrow the U. S. government would face harsh penalties. Trump and his plotters should be arrested for planning and attempting a coup. The Jan. 6 invasion should not be treated as a simple break-in. This was an attempt to stop confirmation of the newly elected President and install the man that lost the election. Judges giving light sentences for this invasion are way off base. This was an attempted overthrow of the U.S.A. government.
♦ So CNN had a whole day of nothing but the Jan. 6 riots. Here’s what they did: they showed Trump saying, “We will go to the Capitol,” but they cut out “peacefully, to hear our voices heard.” It’s just more of how they lie and mislead the American people.
♦ Are we really OK with our country turning into a 3rd world country? Where people and the military take over the government? That’s what Jan 6 was. That’s why we need to be reminded about it. So, CNN go ahead and focus a day on Jan 6. Make sure it’s louder in the back for those people who don’t want to be reminded.
♦ Sedition is a federal crime punishable with fines and up to 20 years in prison. It is an overt rebellion against our government, subversion of U.S. Constitution, and incitement or physical insurrection. Today, the U.S. Attorney General indicted 11 people for seditious conspiracy for the Jan 6 attack on Congress. I expect many Republicans will be charged over the next year or so. It took 2 ½ years to convict all of Nixon’s co-conspirators.
♦ Vote idiots out of office. I’m sitting here on Old Highway 5 in the Toonigh community, which is also Holly Springs, and you can’t go anywhere for the traffic on a two-lane road. Vote idiots out of office. Quit letting these people go back into office.
♦ Captain Obvious Taxpayer says take the budget surplus plus the Billions in Federal funds to allow all Georgians access to reasonable medical care, grow our jobs for decades, and stop the bleed out at hospitals. Or, continue to use our tax dollars to pay for nearly every State for this advantage.
♦ Joe Biden gave a speech in Atlanta about civil rights. I don’t know what he’s talking about. He’s talking about the 50s and 60s he’s probably still living in. He also called Kamala the president. Huh, way to go, Joe.
♦ I’m not a Republican in “NAME ONLY”. I’m a Republican who believes in HONESTY and TRUTH. I vote and I want my vote to be counted — not thrown out because the results don’t suit someone who can’t accept defeat. It is time for TRUE REPUBLICANS to stand up to this RADICAL TAKEOVER and let OUR voices be heard.
♦ Yes, what is “this all-Black BET channel” someone mentioned in the Soapbox? Unbelievable! How does that happen? I’ve even seen an all country music channel, an all sports channel AND channels that provide non-English speaking shows. How does this happen? I bet it was Biden!!
♦ What are the names and the accomplishments of our wonderful, newly elected US Senators for Georgia that female millennials and African Americans supported so heavily? Maybe they like voting for nothingness. Is it Ossoff and Warnock or do I have those names confused with some other unknown cheaters. Dems, let me know please.
♦ After two years of COVID, I would like the CDC to provide a breakdown of U.S. deaths as of Dec 31, 2021, by age, category (died from/died with), and vaccine status (vaccinated/not vaccinated). Present the data in a simple table format without any CDC analysis.
♦ Reject local, state and national candidates running on the Big Lie regarding the last presidential election. Support candidates with solutions to problems such as: addressing traffic in Cherokee County, getting teachers’ salary to the national average, creating a state progressive tax system, getting Georgians vaccinated for COVID, having state elections presided over by a nonpartisan commission, making unprepared youth employable, and bringing citizens together for the common good.
♦ When we pledge allegiance to our country, that doesn’t mean that we agree to blindly do whatever we are told. And besides, if you’ve been vaccinated, boosted, and wear your “obedience” mask everywhere, how is anyone putting you “in peril”? Unless, of course, none of that actually works.
♦ I am concerned to hear news stories about “elective surgeries” being postponed due to medical staffing shortages due to the massive rise in hospitalizations of unvaccinated patients. These are not just cosmetic procedures, but diagnostic testing and treatment for serious conditions for cancer and other life impacting or life threatening conditions.
♦ Jerry Fowler Plumbing has great work ethic and a high professional standard.
