Startup 302, the Delaware-based early-stage startup funding competition that was to be a major component of the (cancelled) inaugural neoFest, is moving forward with plans to make its 2021 debut more focused on creating an equitable ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in Delaware.

The event, organized by the Delaware Prosperity Partnership (DPP), is now described as “a Delaware-based funding competition for technology-enabled startups led by underrepresented founders.” Winners will receive prize money, access to mentors and connections in the startup ecosystem.

“We believe innovation thrives when diverse perspectives are fostered and included, and therefore aim to improve access and equity in the First State’s innovation ecosystem,” said Noah Olson, Innovation Support Manager for DPP.

All technology-enabled startups with at least one founding team member from an underrepresented group (at this time defined as: women and people of color, including African-Americans, Latin Americans, or Native American Descent) are eligible to apply for consideration. Those working in industries vital to Delaware’s economic ecosystem, such as bioscience, chemistry, advanced materials, agriculture, financial & business services, and  the up-and-coming esports industry are especially  encouraged to participate.

If you are interested in getting involved with the competition as an applicant, judge or investor/financial supporter, contact info@neoFest.org.
