Proteas taking a stance for the Black Lives Matter movement

Quinton de Kock’s refusal to take the knee ahead of a Proteas’ T20 World Cup clash against West Indies on Tuesday has thrust the star batsman at the centre of a global controversy and reignited the conversation around symbolisms of Black Lives Matter and the fight against racism.
Many have vilified the 28-year-old, while plenty have supported him in his stance against Cricket South Africa’s directive that all Proteas players must take the knee before their matches at the tournament.
