Wendy’s violated civil rights of Black employee who was targeted with racial slur, lawsuit alleges

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – The n-word was “thrown around like pickles” at a Wendy’s in Kalamazoo County, an attorney said during a news conference about a lawsuit filed by an employee of the restaurant.

Sophia Cargill, a Black woman, is suing Wendy’s and two Kalamazoo County residents after she was allegedly called the n-word multiple times and suspended after she reported the issues.
