Detroit, MI — Jillian Wuestenberg, a woman who pointed a gun at a Black woman and her daughters outside a restaurant in Metro Detroit, claims she feared for her life during the incident.

Wuestenberg, who is 32-years old, and her husband, Eric, have been charged with felonious assault in connection to the incident.

The confrontation, which happened on July 1st outside a Chipotle restaurant, was caught by a cellphone video. Wuestenberg can be seen outside her car pointing a handgun while shouting, “Get the (expletive) away! Get away!”

Takelia Hill, who is Black, said that it started when Wuestenberg bumped into her 15-year old daughter, Makayla Green, before entering the restaurant. She said her daughter asked for an apology but the woman started shouting at them.

The argument continued until Wuestenberg got into the van. Hill said she thought the driver would hit them when the car backed out so she hit the window to stop it. That’s when Wuestenberg got out and pointed a gun at them.

However, in an interview with a local news station, Wuestenberg claimed that Hill and her daughters blocked her from getting into her car, making her fear for her life. When asked why she had to point a loaded gun to them, she said, “That meant I’m about to die and I don’t want to die.”

Wuestenberg added that she is not racist.

“I have never seen myself as ignorant or racist. I… have a genuine love for every single person I meet,” said Wuestenberg to WXYZ-TV. “There is so much hate in this world at this point in time and I don’t want a single person to feel what we’re feeling right now.”
